WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?

As an experienced, but self taught, entrepreneur and online business person, after learning to type at school and not much else, I turned to books and mentors when I finally decided I had had enough of being poor and unsuccessful!

Having read hundreds of books and websites, and subscribing to even more newsletters, there are some people who, over the last 10-12 years, have consistently delivered value.

Sometimes it was just one word, phrase, question or comment, that made the difference, but what a difference that was. Each step forward was a real step forward, and we all know that the journey to success is a series of steps, each building on the last.

I wanted to share with you the Top 10 Digital Marketing "gurus" who have inspired me on my online business journey so far and I've tried to tell you about them in chronological order - how I found them (or in Guy Levine's case, how they found me!)

1. Robert G Allen - I became aware of the potential for making money online around 1998 / 1999, about five years after I bought my first domain name. I had long been aware of the potential for marketing any real world business online, but was totally blissfully ignorant about selling information products, making money by affiliate marketing and building a mailing list to make offers to. I, like many dyed in the wool entrepreneurs before me, was so obsessed by building a real world business, that the potential just passed me by! Luckily I was to meet Guy Levine and Chris Barrow fairly soon and accidentally did a few things right... in the meantime, my sister's husband gave her Robert Allen's "Multiple Streams of Internet Income" for Christmas, which I stole, devoured and which led me to read other great Robert G Allen books like "No Money Down For The 90′s" now updated for the 2000′s, the brilliant and groundbreaking "One Minute Millionaire" and also other great internet books like...

2. Joe Vitale - perhaps best known for his excellent personal development books and being featured in The Secret film, Joe Vitale is also a very experienced internet marketer - he's been around and making money online from the mid to late 90's (which in the history of the internet is very experienced indeed). Email marketing is one of the easiest ways to get started making money online and is, in fact, still the way that I make most of my money, either marketing my own products or services to my mailing list, or by recommending carefully chosen items by friends and colleagues. Email marketing (simplified) involves driving traffic to a page where someone gives you their name and email in return for a gift of some kind, thus building your mailing list. You then need to keep in touch with people so they get used to hearing from you and you build a good relationship with your subscribers. Joe explains how to do this very well indeed in his book "The E-Code" over a couple of chapters and if you want to get started somewhere simple, I recommend you read it. Then check out Martin Avis of Kickstart Monthly, as he is a master of using a simple text newsletter to make money online!

3. Jaclyn Easton - Her "Striking It Rich.com" book which I read around the same time. I had been trying to get an internet business off the ground, based around matching up unsigned artists in the music industry (where my husband and I had worked) with managers looking for artist to read. Jaclyn's book was all about 23 little known websites that make more than $1 million per year and essentially many of the business models were membership sites. This inspired me so much I ended up presenting my business plan at the VERY SECOND the dot com bubble exploded, at the fancy Atlantic Bar & Grill in London, to a bunch of Venture Capitalists, during a fire alarm. Which fire alarm bell started and stopped randomly, so I was alternatively shouting into the void, or totally inaudible!

4. Thomas Leonard - founder of the Coaching movement, and Coach U, which was my online college, and then Coachville. Thomas wrote the first coaching book "The Portable Coach", which I highly recommend still and he used email, mailing lists, research & development groups, autoresponders and everything we use today pretty much. I've been using the ShoppingCart he recommended, since 1999, to host my double opt in email list, handle my product inventory, automatically follow up with prospects and customers, deliver digital information products, offer both timed and % off vouchers, split test headlines and pricing via AdTrackers... Thomas was very inspirational and ahead of his time, however, he died very unexpectedly and tragically, having overcome many of his personal demons, in 2003.

5. Guy Levine - going to my first ever coaching convention, in Las Vegas, to see Thomas in action live, led me to meet Chris Barrow (my new business coach) and Guy Levine, his friend and internet marketing advisor. Guy blew me away - he was only about 19 - but one of the brightest people I've met. He knew way more than me about internet marketing and shared his ideas and techniques very generously. Guy has gone on to build a successful SEO / AdWords / PR company based in Manchester, have two babies with wife Martine and buy two helicopters which he flies himself to speaking gigs in. He's a great speaker too! If he wasn't so much fun you would HAVE to hate him!

6. Brett McFall - after getting to know Guy, Steve Watson, Paul & Philly Fuggle and I were invited to go along and support him when he was speaking at the first World Internet Summit to happen in the UK, in Wembley. There the co-host was Alan Forrest Smith who, while not one of my Digital Marketing gurus on this list, has also been incredibly influential in my life. I resolved, while standing in the audience at that first event, to speak on the stage next year. And I did, thanks to Alan, in fact I went on to speak twice for them, the only British woman to be asked to do so. I became great friends with Brett McFall, one of the co-founders of WIS as it's now universally known, and he's a very inspirational guy. He's a very kind and genuine man who has helped me a lot with my speaking and promoting my business from the stage particularly. He came to Brighton just before one of our Money Gym events that he co-hosted and while we were recording videos there, we captured a very funny video of him being rained on and also being a bit upstaged by a seagull which never fails to make me laugh and remember a great day out.

7. Frank Kern - I was listening to one of Brett's audio interviews around this same time and was particularly taken with a couple of guys who had a simple but dynamite system called "The UnderAchiever Method". Those guys turned out to be Frank Kern and Ed Dale and they had invented a neat little system involving driving traffic to a page where you asked one question "What One Thing Do You Want To Know About......X? where X is your chosen niche. The answers were collated and compiled so you could see what most people wanted to know about, and which were the most popular 1 word, 2 word and 3 word phrases people were using. Then you went and created the product (usually an ebook, perhaps written by a ghostwriter, covering the most popular questions) and then you sold it back to your new mailing list. Most people gave the initial product away as an incentive to answer the questions and this also brought testimonials, so it was all good. Then the new traffic was sold the product along with real testimonials and using the language of the niche. Very clever stuff. I believe they sold their mini-publishing empire of niche information product pages to a UK publisher for a very large sum of money, in the end.

That was the first time I really realised the value of a specialist, niche market, responsive mailing list of buyers. Both Frank and Ed have gone on to become incredibly successful in their separate businesses, in Franks case not without a few setbacks! He is heavily involved with many huge IM product launches. Frank's online style is laconic, casual and very, very persuasive. Now Frank get's some stick for perhaps being too persuasive but I just love his style and watching his live gig recordings is just hilarious - so rock 'n' roll - I really want to see him live one day. Ed Dale went on to found the highly successful "30 Day Challenge" which walks new internet marketers through a free program (Ed makes his money on the affiliate products he recommends in that free program).

8. Rich Schefren - around 2006 a new internet marketing guru exploded on the scene, except he was a real life business guru who was moving into the internet marketing world, having sold his last business. Having coached many of the big names such as Jim Edwards, Mike Filsaime and many others, he then released his ground breaking report "The Internet Marketing Manifesto" swiftly followed by the "Missing Chapter" and "Final Chapter" reports. Rich blew my mind because he taught a load of solid business techniques that I had NEVER come across before, in an easy to understand and digest way, capturing the attention and admiration of the ADD troubled internet marketing community at the same time. I went on join both his "Business Growth System" and "Guided Profits System" mentoring programmes - which are fantastic by the way - and my company started to grow swiftly as a result. Do yourself a favour and download the reports - they are not just about IM but about entrepreneurship - you won't regret it.

9. Gary Vaynerchuk - well, what do you say about Gary? I bloomin' love him. I first heard him on an audio interview Rich Schefren did for his mentoring students and Gary was just starting to rise to World Wine Domination! Hey, that's a great catch phrase! You can find Gary at WineLibrary.tv and all over YouTube and Ustream - he's the MASTER of online video. Enthusiastic, passionate, straight talking, unconventional, Gary believes in HARD WORK, that you can simply "Crush It!" in the title of his first book, if you care about what you do, care about your readers, listeners, subscribers and customers and if you show you care at all times. According to Gary, smaller companies have NEVER had a better chance to dominate their competition.

10. Yaro Starak - I can't remember where I first came across Yaro and his Entrepreneurs Journey blog but I knew instantly he was the real deal. I have subsequently gone back and read pretty much every one one of his blog posts from Day One because I was fascinated in how he grew from a kid selling students Dissertation Editing Services to becoming one of the most respected bloggers in the world. He's got an interesting background and talks very openly about that, and his various challenges - both work and personal - and I love that about him. It's not just how to get traffic, it's how to be a better entrepreneur. Yaro's got loads of great free reports - one called the Blog Profits Blueprint and he's very strong on Membership Sites too, both of which reports you really ought to read if you want to learn more about blogging for your business. He also recommends great people, like Gideon Shalwick who has got the most gentle, enjoyable video presence I've come across for a while. I recommend both Yaro and Gideon very highly.

There they are - the Top 10 Business & Internet Marketing Gurus of the last 12 years or so. For me anyway. I hope you enjoyed the article and you check out some of the reports and books and then PUT THEM INTO ACTION!

I will just to get the point. If you know how affiliate marketing to do but not much, are actually make, if any money online, then it two ways. You lie to yourself and don't really work or what you think is the right way to go is wrong about your affiliate marketing everything. I can tell you from experience, that firstly the more option.

The # 1-killer, all wannabe affiliate marketing:

Greed.

I said it, it. And I have so guilty. There are other words that I could use to describe the phenomenon, which I explain to you. Both "Impatience" and "Despair" come to mind. But it's all essentially the same problem.

ALL of these things to lead, that A great lack of FOKUS.

Internet marketing requires work. Not value, a day or a week, but consistent daily actions. There are many things that we do need to be a successful affiliate marketing. We need to do proper keyword research, website or blog creation, backlinking, social networking, landing page tweaking, list building (Advanced Marketer), article writing, video creation, and the list goes on and on.

We have to do all these things? Of course not. But the more time we these things to do, the better we are. So, what's the problem? Now, you spend most of us don't, most of our time, these things to do. Instead we watch YouTube videos, visit reading ebooks, sales pages, check our statistics, read our e-Mails and so on. The amount of actual work, most of us to on a daily basis, in get is ridiculous, best.

But let me the "greed", which again...

If I is about greed an affiliate marketer of public enemy # 1 talk I refer to the marketer, which jumps from niche to niche and business model business model looking after the next big opportunity, before ever really capitalizing on one of the previous. There are countless fully effective online affiliate strategies. It is to keep in the maintenance of discipline, only fills a niche and a business model that is started, your bank account.

The solution for your affiliate marketing are:

1. Choose a niche (or better yet, a single product), converts.
2. Choose a proven business model that irritates you.
3. Promote, that individual niche or product of your chosen business model.
4. Do this until you succeed, even if it takes several weeks...!
(5) Do not anything else!

This is extremely important:

It is involved in an undeniable learning curve with affiliate Marketing, and I can not strongly suggest enough that you get the proper training, in advance, so that you can start, money from the start. Investing in a proven system, recommending years, find out all this stuff on your own can too. You put the right system in the fast lane of affiliate marketing success.

My top recommendation: now!

No doubt that there are hundreds of online programs that promise that you will make fortune online if you join their program. And there is also no doubt that some of them will prove what they say, but more than 99% are just scam trying to rip off money from you.

Believe me, I have tried almost all the money making programs online like AdSense and CPA lead. I had some success with them, but the most I like is affiliate marketing with click bank. I started it in 2007 when I didn't knew even a single thing about affiliate marketing. I struggled a lot to make money with affiliate marketing and today with the help of God I almost know each and everything about affiliate marketing. It is the only business that I use to make money online. I earn more than $5000 even if I don't do any work for a whole month.

In affiliate marketing, you are like a sales man who have to go to each shop in the area and sell his goods for some commission. A little change in affiliate marketing is that you will sit in the comfort of your home and sell products to thousands of potential eager buyers.

There are tons of products in click bank. Almost every niche is listed in its category. Now the most frequently asked question that people ask is that how would they promote product or get traffic to the sales page through their affiliate link. Well, its simple! Below are the three most popular ways I use to drive traffic and make sales.

1. Article marketing.

2. Email marketing.

3. Video marketing.

The most accurate way to make sales is email marketing. You just once capture the emails of visitors coming to your site through a squeeze page and ten later on you promote your affiliate offers to them.

Still there are lot of things that you have to learn in order to succeed in affiliate marketing like how to effectively promote products, how to bring traffic, how to write promotional offers for sales, SEO, lick building, etc. I would advice you to check out my resource box below for more information if you don't want to go through all these difficult things.

There is a system known as CB wealth formula. It is a proven system to make you a six figure income within a flat month. I have tested it and it made me $2000 in first week of using it. It has 10 video modules that will teach you each and every thing even if you are a newbie. I have written a personal review and I am also giving bonuses worth $2000 for free at CB wealth formula [http://ianreviews.info/product-reviews/cb-wealth-formula-review-secret-and-killer-bonus] or alternatively you can visit [http://ianreviews.info/product-reviews/cb-wealth-formula-review-secret-and-killer-bonus]

11 Tips Into Affiliate Marketing

Would it surprise you if I told you that all of the money in internet affiliate marketing has not been made, nor will it be made in our lifetime.

Check out ClickBank, which is an online warehouse where affiliate marketers promote products and see for yourself the amount of dollars this company pays out to marketers, which runs into billions every year.

I am truly convinced that an internet marketing business is the way to earn an income online. With this in mind, ClickBank affiliate marketing is a good place to start to make money online. The following are internet business tips for beginners.

1. If you are already into sales in your offline business, then you have a head start in that you know how important it is to build a relationship with your customers. You do not go full speed ahead into sales without first getting to know your customers and finding out their needs.

2. Find your Niche, something you are interested in and love talking about, as you will have to be able to write articles about this niche.

3. Get a Domain name and a hosting account set up, these can be purchased at a place like Go daddy.

4. You need to get an Opt-in page set up to capture your customer's emails.

5. Open an account with the likes of "I contact" which stores your emails list and you can write just one sales email and send it to all your customers at once.

6. Open an account with ClickBank which has thousands of products that you can sell on line.

7. In Affiliate marketing you need to get your brand out there, so sign up to social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn to name just a few.

8. Write Articles using SEO, - Search Engine Optimization- to get high rankings on Google search engines.

9. Drive Traffic to your Opt-in Page, by placing links in your articles, Twitter and Facebook accounts.

10. Open an account on You Tube where you can post videos connected to your niche.

11. Find a good Affiliate Marketing Program that can show you how to set up these steps and implement them.

If you are interested in making money from home then, in my opinion, Affiliate Marketing is the way to do it, start a program and stick with it, master it and then you can move on. One of the reasons why newbies to internet marketing may take a while to achieve their goals is they jump from program to program and end up going nowhere

Introduction

So, you have seen ads on TV late at night advertising that you can make millions of dollars simply by promoting other people's products or services online via affiliate marketing (such as the Short Cut to Millions commercials you see from time to time about people striking it rich with their program).  Or maybe you are looking for work at various job hunting sites like career builder and see a catchy work at home opportunity that seems to have your name on it (Herbalife is an example of that).  Whatever the program there is out there, just about any work at home program will say that it is easy to make millions simply by promoting whatever the companies have to offer.  Of course, if you are like a typical newbie at affiliate marketing (like I am) when you do take up that program and start working on earning commissions, you will probably find that successfully generating sales and income (let alone big commissions) can literally be easier said than done.  Also, depending on your skill level, making good money online can literally take days, weeks, or even months before you can get good results.  I have done affiliate marketing since last July with no prior sales and marketing experience, and I can tell you first hand that making money online certainly does take lots of work.  In this article I will cover at least 7 obstacles you will face when it comes to generating income online.  Note this article is completely in my own opinion, and you are free to agree or disagree with me.

Challenge #1  Finding a profitable niche to build your website around

If you are looking to make relatively quick commissions online, you will find that many veteran affiliate marketers all say that you must find a highly profitable niche to build a website around.  A "niche" is basically the general theme that your website is built around.  For example, if you built a website about your favorite vacation spot (we will take Seattle, Washington as an example), and wanted to build a website about Seattle, then your niche would be "Seattle".  Ideally, most expert affiliate marketers (i.e., Ken Evoy, Rosalind Gardiner, Average Joe Marketer, and others) will tell you that you need to build a website around a narrow niche that is often searched for that gets low results on search engines.  For example, if you have dogs, and want to build a website centered around dogs in general, you can do that, however if you do a search for "dogs" in most search engines (such as Google or Bing), you will find that you have millions of different websites you are competing with for the top spot on search engines (they say you should appear within the top 20 results of a key word search on search engines for best results via search engine marketing).  Also, most search engines give all new websites a page rank of 0 initially (especially Google), and so your site would be near the far end of the search results unless if your site climbs in rank.  Of course, finding the best possible niche to build a website around is not easy either as even many long tail key words are getting taken (especially popular niches).  If you were looking for eBooks on dogs for example, you would realize that when you do a search for "ebooks on dogs" at Google, you would find that there are more than 4,000,000 different listings for websites on dogs.  So, finding the perfect niche to build your site around will take time and energy.  Of course, there are ways to simplify the task as there are tools out there to help you find the perfect niche.  This brings us to obstacle number 2.

Challenge #2- Competing in more competitive fields-

This type of challenge is certainly common when it comes to turn key websites (or those websites you can purchase from various providers, such as Yourbizwebsites, Amazon, and plug in profit sites that come loaded with prebuilt commercial content covering various subjects and all you really have to do is to plug your affiliate id on the links you have and just promote the site to make profits, instead of having to build the site from scratch)  as well as most multilevel marketing firms where you have a sign up link that you have to promote to build your downline.  So, let's say you decided to take a competitive field in affiliate marketing and build say a website on the Xbox 360.  While the Xbox 360 is a hot topic to build a website around, you will find that there are many other websites that are on the Xbox 360, but you do it anyways.  You can go that route, but search engine marketing alone is probably not going to be the best route to go at first (unless if you can build up your inbound links and thus your search engine rankings in a short amount of time).  Of course, there are ways to market more competitive niches, such as building a website around multiple topics (if you build a generic website), doing paid advertising (where you can literally buy traffic to your site for a certain amount of money), as well as straight up guerrilla marketing (i.e., blogging, social networking, posting classified ads, door to door sales, etc).  Of course, it can take both time and money for you to build your client base or get any real results with this strategy.   Also, if you opt to do paid advertising, some key words are more expensive to bid on than others (ideally you want to get as mainly clicks for your dollar as you can get for as low price as possible, but some key words are bidding at $1.00 per click or higher, which you will need to spend more money for optimal results, and can get expensive after a while).  Even free traffic building techniques do have their obvious pros and cons (and can take a long time to generate good results depending on how you promote).

Challenge #3- Low skill level

Ideally if you plan to take up affiliate marketing, it helps to have some successful marketing experience, preferably in a commission sales setting.  This is because being an affiliate marketer is essentially a commission sales job, which means you get paid for what you sell (though some companies pay on a per click or lead basis).  Naturally, some products and services will be easier to sell than others and it certainly does pay to know what you are doing when you take up marketing.  If you are good with commission sales programs, then affiliate marketing can be very profitable for you, whereas on the flip side, if you are a total newbie, earning commissions can definitely be easier said than done, and it can take months, weeks, or even years before you get good results if you don't know what you are doing.  On the plus side, there are mentors out there (even with some of the companies that specialize in affiliate marketing), but many of them do charge their clients for their services (which can be expensive depending on who is mentoring you).  There are also videos, eBooks, and regular books out there, but not all of them are free, and some may be more helpful than others.  It might be easier to not go at it alone, and recruit people into your business that can help you get started.  For example, if you don't know how to make a website, then you could hire someone to build your site for you and you can focus more on promotion, list building, and budgeting.  Of course, I do not recommend affiliate marketing  to anyone who does not know what they are doing and have little or no prior commission sales experience (unless if you are willing to hire people to help you promote your business).

Challenge 4 - not putting a hole in your budget

With affiliate marketing, you are essentially running your own business.  You set up your own website, you run marketing campaigns yourself, and so fourth.   Like just about any kind of business, you can expect to spend money with affiliate marketing, with common costs including web hosting for the website you build, advertising, maintaining a mailing list for your subscribers, training material, and the like.  Of course, if you are not careful about how you spend your money, costs can add up after a while.  I made that mistake myself by pouring more than $2000 into my affiliate marketing efforts by buying eBooks, spending lots of money with paid advertising, a $500 eBook on list building, as well as upgraded memberships at traffic exchanges, and so now my money is extremely tight.  There are plenty of resources out there, and you will likely attract spammers with your efforts (especially if you advertise on Craigslist as people will solicit you trying to get you to join their classified ads service), along with the occasional scam artist that wants to rip you off on something, but then if you give your money to every service out there, you will likely find yourself in a pit sooner or later (such as huge credit card debts).  Of course, there are ways to keep costs down, such as choosing your hosting service carefully (some services are more affordable than others you know), getting the most cost effective resources for your business, try to get as many clicks for each dollar you spend on pay per click ads, as well as not taking up every offer you see out there.

 Challenge 5 - becoming a "spammer magnet"

Alan Gardyne from the Associate Programs website (see resource box below for link) rightly says in his tutorial article, "18 Step Affiliate Program Tutorial" that after you have built your website and are waiting for people to buy from the companies you represent, you will become a prime target from spammers, as well as occasional scam artists alike (Gardyne).  Since you have to expose your presence online, post your email address on sites, as well as joining various networking sites online, you will likely get get other web marketers who try to solicit you on stuff.  For example, if you have invested in the multilevel marketing business, sometimes you might get people from other MLMs that try to recruit you into their MLM firm, usually saying that theirs is better than yours.  I get that myself, as I have been a Global Domains International Member since September of 2008, and now I get people from other MLMs trying to get me to join theirs (some noteworthy ones includes: carbon copy pro, vemma builder, xango juice, alive max, and push button extreme).  Of course, I am not about to invest my money into multiple MLMs out there since not only would that get expensive after a while and plus it helps to get a decent conversion rate with one program before moving onto another (which is common sense).   One other thing worth mentioning is that if you put your phone number up online, some people WILL call you offering services for money.  I remember a while back when I first joined Legit Online Jobs, for example, I got a guy representing the company wanting to offer me 1 on 1 coaching service for at least $2000 up front.  Of course, $2000 is a lot of money to invest in training for affiliate marketing business (especially if you can go to friends, your former employer, or even college professor for advise, or even getting a good ebook for less than $100  that explains the opportunity in detail).  Bottom line, new marketers beware: other marketers are coming after you for your money.  Of course, there are a few ways to curb spam, such as not signing up for every newsletter you find online, being mindful where you post your information, having people "work" for your sign up, or even referring them to other advertising services.

Challenge 6 - Promoting your website or program without spamming

In the last section, I talked about trying to promote a website without spamming, and now I will talk about a similar issue that you will likely encounter online: how to promote without spamming.  Of course, I am not talking about spam as a good thing, but now days where people are extra weary about web marketers and spammer, some people have a very broad definition of what "spam" is.  For example, let's say you don't have the money to advertise your website on pay per click advertising (AdWords can get very expensive if you are not able to generate sales with it after all), and so you decide to write a classified ad on Craigslist.  You can do that, but there are two things to watch for:

1) Craigslist does prohibit direct affiliate marketing, and 2) there are flaggers lurking around on Craigslist often looking to enforce the rules to the letter, and so if your ad looks too catchy, or you make your affiliate marketing efforts obvious (I am sure that we have all made that mistake at some point), someone will flag your ad and it will get deleted.  Consequently, one has to mask their promotional efforts a bit to avoid "spamming" Craigslist.  Also, for companies that have invite systems (such as Global Domains International), naturally you will probably try to invite people you know to join your downline, but then if you are not careful about who you invite, some people may get upset and treat your invite as "spam".

Even on forums and social networking sites, you will find that some are more lenient than others about what you post, as well as sites where there are "stalinist" moderators who consider even linking to your own site as "spam".  Some forums even have restrictions on what goes on your signature file.  In fact, the other day, I had an interesting thing happen to me, I used to be a member at a popular business forum called business forums, and I don't know what I said or did (or maybe it had something to do with me showcasing my website in the advertising section on the site), but one day when I tried to log in, I found out that my ip address was banned.  Obviously, I am not normally the spammer type, but I must have pissed someone off there unintentionally, and the admin decided to ban me (he never even gave me a warning or gave me a chance to explain myself).  Luckily that was just one several forums I was a part of, but that example is to illustrate how easy it can be to cross the line and be considered a "spammer".

Perhaps the best things you can do to avoid "spamming" is to mask your marketing efforts when doing free methods, not posting referral links on social networking sites (unless if they don't restrict them), and taking things slowly.  Another thing you could do is go the path of least resistance, as there are sites that are more lenient about how you promote than others.  For example, one type of site I tend to favor are traffic exchanges since one can simply post almost any link they wish to promote (though some restrictions apply), surf other webmasters' ads and get easy page views that way.  The only downside to traffic exchanges is that you will find that the conversion rate is not very good with those as most fellow surfers will likely visit your website mainly to get credits, and so you would have to surf lots of sites (ideally at least 1000 credits' worth of sites per day minimum) if you want best results with them, which can take time and work (like spending up to 6 hours or more per day surfing countless sites for credits).   You could also focus more on offline promotion where you can show of your links to friend, family, and other people you come across.

Challenge 7 - Going "impressions" and "clicks" to actually getting "leads" and "sales"

This is a challenge I am facing now and can't really provide and answer to this: if you market your website properly, you will find that most of the time you will only get hits and occasional hits for the links you have.  Of course, the real challenge is to be able to go get some of the hits to turn into sales or payable leads.  You might get 1000 impressions, and 100 clicks on average, but if none of them convert to leads or sales, it can be extra tricky to earn money with affiliate marketing.  It would be nice if companies paid on a per click or 1000 impressions basis, but that is not so with most companies.  Even with Google AdSense, which pays on a per click basis, it can be tricky to generate extra clicks each day.  Perhaps the best way to improve your conversion rate (or sales, payable leads/clicks, etc) is to get feedback from people and try to build up traffic and tweak your site to give people reasons to do more than just clicking on your links.

Well, that are all of the challenges worth pointing out for now, and I will plan on posting more as I come across more challenges over time.

Internet Business – Affiliate Marketing Secrets

Monetizing an Internet business is one of the most challenging things a business owner has to do. Coming up with products to sell is not as easy as it sounds. In this article let's talk about why affiliate marketing is a perfect Internet business for many people.

If you are not familiar with affiliate marketing it works like this. As an affiliate marketer you join a program with an affiliate merchant and then they give you products to sell for them. This is extremely helpful to the average Internet marketer because the product is already developed and ready to sell.

As a matter of fact as an affiliate marketer you will also be given support materials to help you make sales with. These materials will include your own affiliate website to sell the products, marketing materials such as graphics and banners, and other support material including email messages and blog articles. This is part of what makes affiliate marketing the perfect Internet business for the average person. You are handed everything that you need to be successful except customers.

You will earn a handsome commission to promote your affiliate website and make sales. This is what separates successful affiliate marketers from people who do not make any money. The number one thing you should concentrate on is to get as much targeted traffic to your affiliate website as possible. This takes skills and hard work, but anyone can do it if they possess average intelligence.

Again the nice thing is many of the shortcuts are already set up for you. If you want to move to a higher level with your Internet business there are also other things you can do. For example, you can create your own landing page and put a sign up form on it. The sign up form is a place for your visitor to give you their name and email address. In exchange for doing this you will offer some sort of a useful piece of information such as an ebook, a report, or some other freebie. But why you want to do that? Let me explain.

People will not usually buy anything on their first visit; therefore it is important that you are able to follow up with them over and over. You do this by preprogramming a series of messages in an auto responder and dripping this information on your visitor after they give you their name and email address. This is a very easy process to set up and worth the time to do it. In the future you can develop a large list of prospects that you are emailing on a consistent basis.

Today so much of the Internet is built around relationships. You see this in various forms of social media such as blogging, videos on YouTube, and other forms of Web 2.0. This is another reason why affiliate marketing is the perfect Internet business. By utilizing the landing page and autoresponder approach, you are able to build relationships with your prospects which ties in very well with social networking.

Over time you will see your affiliate sales increase because you become a trusted business partner of the people on your list. You have earned the credibility that you now possess because you have taken the time to get to know people as friends after they have subscribed to your email list.

In summary this is a very simple process to do. Once you have your system in place you can spend the majority of your time promoting your landing page and building your list. This can all be done online and is the perfect way to build an affiliate marketing Internet business.

So you have decided what your online business model will be. So now the question is, how are you going to get your business in front of consumers? The answer is the ever so talked about, internet marketing. The word internet marketing covers quite a bit of ground. So in this article I want to break down a few things that are all considered internet or online marketing. This is not the how-to, rather it is the what-can be done with internet marketing. Some of the things we are going to cover will work as supporting internet marketing tools, while other can function as a complete business for those who only do internet marketing like affiliate marketers for example. In part 4 of this article we will go into building traffic to your site, we will also discuss other aspects of internet marketing in parts 5, 6, 7 and 8.

If you are ready to start looking at doing some internet marketing for your business you should have already done all the basic research. Your site should be up with all the basic marketing tools on them, and you will know what your target market is. Since I am going to assume that you do not have the marketing tools on there yet, I will go over a few of them as well.

So what internet marketing tools are available for you to use, both on your site and as additional support. The basic ones that you should be aware of and hopefully have on your site is either a newsletter or auto-responder. This requires an opt-in form somewhere on your page that allows you to get a persons email address if nothing else. Most will ask for both a name and email since it allows you to personalize your correspondence with the user. Some other basic tools are of course your copy, images and other content that you can have on your site, but that is pretty much a given. Other tools that can be used on your website as part of internet marketing are for example auctions, coupons, membership areas and of course informational pages. Even though you are not selling the information, it can still be a very valuable tool. Another thing you can do on your site as part of your internet marketing is offer an affiliate program, which of course only works if you are selling something and you are not an affiliate marketer yourself.

The next thing I want to mention as part of internet marketing is SEO. This is what makes the search engines deliver your website as a result when people do specific searches. SEO is a big part of generating traffic to you website, or should we say, it can be a big part if you do it right. SEO has two aspects that are both important and need to be done right in order for your internet marketing to be effective. The two aspects of SEO are on-site and off-site optimization. If you approach your marketing on the internet in a well thought out way, you will automatically be doing off-site optimization, but the on-site will require your direct attention, research and work. SEO does not happen over night and is an ongoing process on your behalf to make sure that your site is steadily climbing up the results on the search engines. If you do your research and understand SEO you will not need to focus specifically on it, rather it is something that is built along side your online business.

Now here is a brief look at some tools that you can use that are not directly related to your website, or on your website. These are the internet marketing tools you can use in combination with your website in order to increase traffic, exposure, brand recognition and if done right you can use some of these tools to increase your turn over rate of lookers to buyers. A few marketing tool you can use are of course the obvious ones like plain advertisements. This can be PPC, PPM or banner advertisements. In addition you can use classifieds, paid registration with directories and local business registration with some of the search engines. This type of internet marketing can vary extremely in price and depending on what kind of investments you are willing to make, may be over your internet marketing budget. This form on internet marketing is extremely effective, if of course they are done right.

Some other forms of internet marketing you can use are things like squeeze pages, social media marketing and email marketing. Squeeze pages are becoming very popular with internet marketers, because you can use them in several ways. This includes using them on your website and/or setting them up to work as a stand alone tool in your internet marketing campaign. A squeeze page or opt-in page as they are also known as is a fundamental tool that requires the use of either a newsletter or auto-responder. Without either of those a squeeze page is useless, because a squeeze page or opt-in page is really nothing more than a tool used to "harvest" names and email addresses of your users. This is done so that you can start utilizing email marketing and establish a relationship with your users, both those who did not buy and those who did buy. Another form of email marketing is buying an email campaign. This can be a very effective way to give your internet marketing campaign a boost. There are vendors out there that offer to do email marketing. This service is provided by companies that normally have spent years building an opt-in list of users that are interested in certain products or services. Email marketing campaigns are normally sold by millions of emails sent and have a pretty good response rate. This means that you can create an email that will be sent to several million users at a time, so if you only get a small fraction of people clicking through to your website it could potentially mean that you get several thousand users to take a look. The last part we want to briefly touch on is a phenomenon that had been up and coming over the last few years. Social media marketing has started to become an internet marketing field of it's own, with companies often spending quite a bit of the marketing funds focusing on social media marketing. Social media marketing is the term used for internet marketing done on all social networks. A social network is anything that allows users to interact, either in writing, with videos or audio, so as you can guess the term covers almost just as much ground as the them internet marketing does.

All of the terms and the tools we have covered in this part are extremely valuable tools. Even though this list is not complete and does not cover all of the tools available for internet marketers, an internet marketing campaign will consist of a combination of these tools. There are several variations that you can use in order to maximize your marketing efforts and I suggest that you educate yourself about how these tools can be used effectively. Once you learn how to use these internet marketing tools in an effective way, you could be the next internet success story.
